The city of Manila in the Philippines will set the stage for the Mr Gay World 2025 competition on December 1. Representing the Netherlands is Tim Küsters, who has been committed for years to improving mental health within the LGBTQIA+ community.
In 2023, Tim Küsters was crowned Mr Gay Europe. He has long been dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, with a special focus on community members who wish to have children. In addition, he works on mental health, suicide prevention, and the fight against conversion therapy.
Campaign
With his campaign “Be Proud. Be Strong. Be Mentally Healthy.”, Tim has raised awareness across Europe about mental health within the LGBTQIA+ community. As Mr Gay Europe, he spoke at the EuroPride in Thessaloniki during the Human Rights Congress, Arctic Pride in Tromsø, and at numerous events in the Netherlands and Belgium.
He also engaged in conversations with influential leaders, including the Mayor of Oslo, Anne Lindboe, and frequently appeared in the media to share his message of visibility, acceptance, and collaboration.
International platform
In addition to his ongoing work for mental health and suicide prevention, Tim will soon launch a new international platform titled “Voices of Strength, Faces of Pride.”
This platform aims to give ambassadors visibility and showcase what the community is capable of achieving. The initiative highlights the power of representation, collaboration, and pride, especially in a time when positive stories and connection are more important than ever.
“I’ve learned that visibility saves lives, awareness creates understanding and acceptance, and collaboration is essential within our community. When we stand up and become visible, we light the way for others to do the same,” said Tim Küsters.
Mr Gay World 2025
The 2025 edition of Mr Gay World, organized under the new leadership of Wayne Renzo, promises to be an inspiring and spectacular week. Starting November 24, finalists from around the world will travel to Manila for an intensive program full of ambassadorship, presentations, and social engagement.
Participants will visit the Philippine Senate, the Love Yourself Foundation, take part in press events, and give interviews. The week will conclude in celebration with the Coronation Night on December 1, 2025, where the new Mr Gay World will be crowned during a grand and festive show.
